Send ghosts to haunt the castle - beware of the heroic gatekeeper!

This is a reverse "defend the base" game: you place the enemies and send waves while the hero NPC tries to defend the castle.

The gatekeeper gets smarter and with larger sight range as you progress the levels (there are 5 levels in total).

Made for the Godot Wild Jam #33, with the theme "You aren't the hero". All optional wildcards were used:

- Fully Immersed: make your menus and UI be part of the game world
- Transmutation: you can't kill enemies, only change them
- Getting Rich: include a form of currency in your game

A loose interpretation was applied to the transmutation one, since although the enemies are not killed (ghosts become roaming angels), they never come back and therefore they are permanently out of the mechanics (unlike e.g. pacman ghosts).

All assets are original by me, including my not-so-sexy voice which is completely out of tune.

Great soundtrack, would be cool if you could spawn ghosts with a key instead of having to click the coin every time.

Amazing music and sound effects. Clever concept, I like the idea of reversing typical gameplay elements

Very cool. I love the epic soundtrack. The "ghost ghosts" (when a ghost dies) gave me a chuckle. One simple bit of polishing you could do on this is make the ghosts' placement require their own space, so the player can't stack a lot of ghosts in one spot.

the ghost ghosts are actually angels =p yes, some placement collision would have been better...

Very fun... Strategy? :)
